AIDAnova: The Largest Cruise Ship Ever Built in Germany

A Triumph of German Engineering

The AIDAnova is a testament to the engineering prowess and innovation of Meyer Werft GmbH, the Papenburg-based shipyard that has been crafting some of the world's most impressive cruise ships for over a century. This behemoth of the seas was built under contract from Carnival Corporation plc, the world's largest cruise operator.

Technical Specifications

With a length of 337 meters and a width of 42 meters, the AIDAnova is a true maritime marvel. Its 18 decks can accommodate up to 6,600 passengers and 1,500 crew members. As the first ship of the Helios-class, the AIDAnova is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a state-of-the-art propulsion system that utilizes liquefied natural gas (LNG). This environmentally friendly fuel source significantly reduces the ship's carbon footprint.
